Translation is the process in which the meaning of a document is communicated from one language (source) to another language (target) in writing.
Whether you are a private person, an entrepreneur, a start-up or a large company, you may need translations for several reasons: to set up a company abroad, to register a new product in a different country, to understand an official document from a foreign authority, or to convey your message to your multinational team of colleagues, to name just a few. Depending on your intended purpose, you might need a standard translation or a sworn/certified translation .
Translation process
We can work with several file formats, from MS Word or MS Excel through more complex formats like XML or InDesign files to non-editable files such as PDF, JPG or a simple scanned document.
We prepare a separate offer for each document, and start the work only upon your approval of our quote and the delivery date. Our detailed offer includes the translation cost, which is calculated based on the number of words in the translatable document, together with any additional fees or applicable special discounts, and the expected delivery time. There are several urgency options, and our colleagues are always glad to discuss the details or the translation process with you.
The translation is always carried out by a translator who is a native speaker of the target language and who has expertise in the topic of the document to be translated. During the translation project, we pay special attention to the different language variations (e.g. German for Germany or German for Austria) and localise the translated text according to the target country. Each translation is proofread by a second translator who is also a native speaker of the target language. Following the translation process, we carry out a two-step in-house quality check through our QA team, which consists of:
- terminology review, double-checking of names and organisations
- formatting the translation(s) to reflect the original source document(s)
- content, consistency and coherence check.
If everything is fine, we deliver the final translation to our client.
Languages
We provide translation and interpreting services in more than 50 languages, including all the official languages of the European Union, other European, Asian, African languages, and some rare minority languages too.
Tight deadlines
We are aware that – especially in cases of EU projects, press releases or submissions to authorities – the time available for translation can be quite limited, yet it is crucial that these short deadlines should be met. Therefore, we are equipped to meet very strict deadlines. If we receive a heads-up, we are able to deliver translations of press releases within a few hours or overnight.
