Interpreting Success: Driving Multilingual Collaboration on Regional Development Strategies

In late November, we were proud to provide interpretation services for a major event in Prague that brought together stakeholders from across Europe to share experiences and insights into regional cooperation and the implementation of integrated development strategies.

The high-profile event had a packed agenda, including keynote speeches, plenaries, workshops and a networking dinner, requiring flawless linguistic and technical coordination to facilitate meaningful exchanges.

Multilingual Expertise Delivered

The event required professional interpreters for the English<>Czech (EN<>CZ) language pair. Leveraging our vast pool of interpreters, we ensured precise and effective communication throughout the two-day event:

  • Simultaneous Interpretation: Two interpreters worked in a booth, ensuring seamless translation for plenary sessions focusing on regional development and metropolitan cooperation.
  • Workshop Support: Four additional interpreters were assigned for breakout workshops, including sessions exploring innovative governance models and cooperation approaches. A tour guide system was employed for these more interactive sessions, providing flexible solutions tailored to the needs of smaller groups.

To guarantee a top-notch service, we conducted a meticulous selection process. Our interpreters are native speakers of the target languages and have a minimum of five years of experience in simultaneous interpretation. Many are accredited by European Institutions or the United Nations, or are AIIC members, and hold university degrees in simultaneous interpreting. We also ensured backup interpreters were on hand to cover any unexpected situations so the event could proceed without disruption.

Interpreter Preparation and Coordination

When approached about providing services for an event, we gather all essential details, including the topic, background materials, technical requirements and whether recording or live streaming will be involved. This information is shared with the interpreters, who are kept updated of any changes to ensure they are fully prepared. For this event, additional interpreters were arranged to accommodate increased requirements as the plans evolved.

The interpreters prepared extensively by studying the background materials provided and conducting additional research. For this conference, there was a wealth of online resources available, enabling the interpreters to gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter, ensuring accurate and informed interpretation throughout.

Technical Excellence Provided

The technical aspects of the event were handled seamlessly thanks to collaboration with trusted partners. A thorough visit to the site beforehand allowed the technical team to offer expert advice and ensure the optimal setup of all interpretation equipment. Their professionalism and reliability were crucial in delivering a trouble-free experience for all participants.

Building on Previous Successes

This conference built on the momentum of an earlier event held in 2023. The satisfaction of the organising team in both instances reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality linguistic and technical coordination for complex, multilingual events.

Bridging Linguistic Gaps for Success

Effective multilingual communication is vital for the success of international conferences and workshops. The expertise, adaptability and dedication of linguistic and technical teams help create an environment where every message is conveyed clearly, fostering meaningful collaboration across language barriers.
